Aarp Rolls Out Retirement Security 2004 Election Tour at Long Island Ducks Game

Summary

ISLIP, N.Y., Aug. 24 /U.S. Newswire/ -- AARP's Election 2004 RV traveled to Long Island today, stopping at a Long Island Ducks home game, as part of a nationwide effort to educate the American people about the issues facing those who are age 50 and above. The event provided the opportunity for people to learn about important election issues, voice their opinions by emailing the candidates and even have their pictures taken with cardboard cutouts of the candidates.

Americans are facing many challenges as they prepare for their retirement security. AARP is determined to educate voters about the positions of Senator Kerry and President Bush, while also providing voters with the tools they need to make informed decisions on candidates for the US House of Representatives and the US Senate. The tour seeks to highlight the important issues surrounding retirement security: access to affordable health care, affordable prescription drugs, Social Security and long-term care, that face both today's and tomorrow's retirees.
