News Advisory:
WHAT: During this week's Congressional Recess, Syracuse AARP members will be busy urging Congressman James Walsh (Congressional District 25) to help defeat proposals creating private accounts carved out of Social Security. Along with a strong message, the AARP members will deliver materials illustrating how private accounts will weaken Social Security. AARP volunteers will also leave their Congressman with a four-legged stool, symbolic of the four pillars of a secure retirement (earnings, pension and savings, health insurance and Social Security), emblazoned with the message "Strengthen it. Don't Destroy it. No Private Accounts Carved Out of Social Security."See the full content of this document
