Ambassadors to the U.N.Lee Hamilton Appear in Four Newspapers Today

WASHINGTON, Oct. 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- At a time when fierce partisanship dominates the headlines, and funding for many projects is in jeopardy, a group of 30 eminent U.S. foreign policy and national security leaders, from both political parties, are joining forces to declare that the work of the United Nation's provides real national security benefits to the United States. Today, this bipartisan statement will appear as full-page ads in Politico, Roll Call, CQ Today and The Hill.

The statement was developed and released by Partnership for a Secure America (PSA), a nonprofit organization, founded by former Representative Lee Hamilton and Senator Warren Rudman to advance bipartisanship on critical national security and foreign policy challenges. The ads state, "that support of the UN is one of the most cost-effective ways for the U.S. to successfully address global challenges and leverage our global leadership." It also declares, "the UN's work enables the United States to reap real national security benefits that advance American interests and make us safer and stronger here at home."
