SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sept. 2 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Since Monday, victims of Hurricane Katrina, which ferociously struck Louisiana and other Gulf Coast States, have been desperately evacuating. With the death toll expected to rise to the thousands, LIFE for Relief and Development (LIFE) has appealed to the public for donations.
The category four storm, which is estimated to have caused $25 billion in damage, has left thousands homeless and may be the worst and costliest in American history. In New Orleans alone, the city is believed to be 80 percent underwater; with some water levels exceeding 20 feet. And as residents of the U.S. Gulf Coast continue to struggle with the destruction and devastation, members of LIFE's response team are assessing the situation and have turned to generous donors for help.See the full content of this document
