WASHINGTON, March 26 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Following is the daily "Profile America" feature for Monday, March 27 from the U.S. Census Bureau:

Profile America for Monday, March 27. While most people are happy to see spring again, for many, there's a familiar, burdensome chore coming not too far behind mowing the lawn. That's why this is National Mower Tune-Up Month. The idea is to make sure your lawn mower is in good shape for the coming season, so it will do a better job, burn less fuel and be easier on the environment. That means first digging through the shed or the garage, moving aside the snow shovels and other winter equipment to find the mower and then see if it will start. There are nearly 89-million single-family homes across the country. The largest proportion of households, 28 percent, have one-eighth to one-quarter of an acre to maintain, while about 19 percent have up to one-half acre to care for. You can find these and more facts about America from the U.S. Census Bureau on the Web at http://www.census.gov.
