WASHINGTON, July 17 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Following is a statement by Matthew L. Myers, president Campaign for Tobacco- Free Kids:

"America's kids won an important victory against the tobacco industry Monday when the Delaware Supreme Court ruled that the American Legacy Foundation's highly effective youth smoking prevention advertising campaign, called truth(r), does not violate the 1998 state tobacco settlement, as the Lorillard Tobacco Company had claimed in a lawsuit. The Delaware Supreme Court upheld a lower court ruling that rightly found no merit to Lorillard's claim that the truth(r) ads "vilify" the tobacco companies or their employees.
