Summary

WASHINGTON, Aug. 18 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Campaign for Tobacco- Free Kids honored Delaware State Rep. Deborah Hudson for her leadership in advocating policies to protect kids from tobacco and reduce its devastating toll in Delaware. Rep. Hudson was honored last night during the annual meeting of the National Conference of State Legislatures in Seattle.

Delaware is a national leader in protecting kids from tobacco due in large part to the work and dedication of Representative Hudson. Thanks to the tireless effort of Rep. Hudson and Delaware's supportive legislative champions, the state has adopted proven policies to reduce smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke: a well- funded tobacco prevention and cessation program and a comprehensive smoke-free law that covers all workplaces, including restaurants and bars. Delaware is one of only three states that are currently funding its tobacco prevention programs at the level recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
