BUFFALO, N.Y., July 7 /U.S. Newswire/ -- "Attorney General Eliot Spitzer's decision to retry former broker Ted Sihpol threatens to undermine his ongoing efforts to raise the business ethics of Wall Street.
Less than a month ago, General Spitzer and his office were dealt a defeat when a New York jury acquitted Sihpol on 29 of 33 counts of the original indictment. Afterward it was learned that on the four counts on which the jury was hung, the vote was 11-1 for acquittal. General Spitzer's decision today would make more sense if the vote on those four counts was in favor of conviction or if the jurors from the prior case had not opined to the press after the case that they didn't believe the AG's office had proven its case.See the full content of this document
