WASHINGTON, April 14 /U.S. Newswire/ -- After weeks of e-mails from the public, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has clearly reaffirmed the rules that require broadcasters to disclose the source of materials produced by third parties. No longer can TV stations simply take government-produced video news releases (VNRs) from the spinsters at the White House and air them without disclosure.

The important ruling came after a month of pressure from StartChange --http://www.StartChange.org -- and other groups. StartChange launched its StopFakeNews campaign -- http:// www.StopFakeNews.org -- on March 13 -- since then over 26,900 people have used StopFakeNews.org to send an email directly to the FCC and the Justice Department.
