Healthcare Management Certificate Program Available This Fall, 2005 Throughout Georgia, a Georgia Leads Initiative

ATHENS, Ga., Aug. 25 /U.S. Newswire/ -- In the ever-changing field of healthcare, charge nurses, shift supervisors and other healthcare professionals must be up-to-date on the latest in management and supervisory knowledge and skills. Starting this fall new managers, supervisors (or those soon to become managers), as well as those with managerial responsibilities will have the opportunity to participate in the Healthcare Management Certificate Program. The program will build upon existing leadership skills and provide new information about healthcare management.

The Healthcare Management Certificate Program will help participants increase their confidence and skills to become efficient managers through a series of six modules. Each module offers six-hours of face-to-face sessions and nine-hours of online instruction. Modules include information on human resource development and staff relationships, leadership skill development, and finances and accounting for the non-accountant manager. The modules can be taken in any sequence. The classroom components are offered at University System of Georgia schools throughout the state.
