PITTSBURGH, June 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Highmark Inc., in partnership with its subsidiary companies, Davis Vision, Gateway Health Plan, Highmark Insurance Group, Keystone Health Plan West and United Concordia Life and Health, recently provided grants totaling nearly $900,000 to support 121 educational organizations in Pennsylvania.

The grants were funded through Highmark's subsidiary companies' participation in the Education Improvement Tax Credit program (EITC), part of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development. This year, Highmark's subsidiaries provided $160,000 towards educational improvement organizations, $400,500 for scholarship programs and $335,288 for pre-kindergarten scholarship organizations in the state of Pennsylvania.
