With Americans in full bustle preparing for the winter holidays, the link between daily activities and an international conference on another continent may seem even more obscure than usual. Yet when this season is remembered as one of good will, caring for friends, family, and neighbors, and appreciation for the gift of life on Earth, the connection becomes clearer. Such sentiments will help guide the representatives of 194 signatory nations when they meet December 6-17 in Buenos Aires for the annual conference of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and its Kyoto Protocol.
