YARMOUTH PORT, Mass., Jan. 28 /U.S. Newswire/ -- IFAW (the International Fund for Animal Welfare, http://www.ifaw.org) has begun a wildlife rescue operation at an oil spill caused by the capsizing of the bulk carrier Rocknes off the coast of Bergen, Norway.
The ship went aground on January 19 killing 18 crew members. Following the tragedy an estimated 450 tons of marine fuel leaked from the wreck, and the oil has now spread more than 15 kilometers along surrounding fjords northwest of Bergen.See the full content of this document
