GLEN ELLYN, Ill., Aug. 25 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Illinois Family Institute (IFI) Executive Director Peter LaBarbera today called upon Gov. Blagojevich and the Illinois Bureau of Tourism to reject the Chicago "Gay Games" application for $450,000 in promotional grants - - saying it would be a "colossal waste of taxpayer funds" to subsidize an immoral event that offends most Illinoisans and which has been a financial disaster in past host cities.

The Bureau of Tourism is reviewing an application by the "Gay Games" for $450,000 in government grants to promote it as an Illinois tourist destination. IFI is urging citizens to contact Gov.
