ARLINGTON, Va., June 5 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The independent Commission charged by Congress to recommend needed changes in the laws, policies, regulations, and practices under which the National Guard and Reserves operate delivered its 90-day organizational report today to the House and Senate Armed Services Committees and to the Secretary of Defense.

The report, required by Congress in the legislation creating the Commission on the National Guard and Reserves, marks 90 days since the Commission's first official meeting and describes the group's strategic plan for completing its work, including its activities, operational guidelines, analytical approach, and guiding principles. The report also presents initial findings based on the Commission's work thus far, and lists the major policy questions the Commission will attempt to answer in its final report, to be delivered next year.
