AUSTIN, Texas, June 22 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) will host its eighth Disorder in the Court Academy in Austin, Texas, June 23 and June 24. The Disorder in the Court Project is a multi-year undertaking by ALEC with the purpose of educating legislator members on the recent trend of courts bypassing the legislature to create public policy.

"ALEC's Disorder in the Court Academy pairs the nation's top experts on civil justice reform with state legislators who have an obligation to learn about the devastating effects this litigation has on state economies," said ALEC's Civil Justice Task Force Co- Chairman Mississippi Senator Charlie Ross. "At the core of this issue is a subversive effort to weaken the authority of elected legislators in the policy-making process."
