WASHINGTON, April 22 /U.S. Newswire/ -- U.S. Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CT) and four of his Senate colleagues yesterday introduced the National Park Centennial Act, a bill that would fund the needs of the national parks for the next decade. Sen. Lieberman joined Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN), Sen. Ken Salazar (D- CO), and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D- CA).

"Sen. Lieberman is a champion of the environment," said Craig Obey, vice president for government affairs for the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA). "His support for this legislation and his leadership on national park issues is vital to preserving our national heritage."
