National Mammography Day at Gw Medical Faculty Associates

WASHINGTON, Oct. 12 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The third Friday in October each year is National Mammography Day, first proclaimed by President Clinton in 1993. In honoring the day, beginning at 9 a.m., the GW Medical Faculty Associates Breast Care Center and Mobile Mammography Program will offer free mammograms and clinical breast exams to qualified women. In conjunction with its partners, Safeway stores Eastern Division and Z104 radio station, the Mammovan will be parked outside of the MFA at 22nd & I Streets, NW not only to provide exams and education to women, but also to raise public awareness of breast cancer. Safeway will be providing food, refreshments, and Z104 will be broadcasting live from the event site.
