WASHINGTON, Aug. 8 /U.S. Newswire/ -- With the first anniversary of Hurricane Katrina's landfall approaching, the Kaiser Family Foundation held a forum with policymakers and medical professionals today on the health care experiences and challenges in New Orleans and surrounding areas in the aftermath of Katrina.

New information released at the event includes a national survey of the American public on the response to Hurricane Katrina, a new report profiling the health care experiences of Katrina survivors from New Orleans and a short film on how survivors are coping with health needs in Louisiana post-Katrina.
