BALTIMORE, July 20 /U.S. Newswire/ -- NAACP President & CEO Bruce S. Gordon today congratulated the Senate for passing the Fannie Lou Hamer, Rosa Parks and Coretta Scott King Voting Rights Act Reauthorization and Amendments Act (VRA) by a vote of 98-0. The House passed similar legislation last week by a 390-33 margin. Gordon issued the following statement:

"The Senate has done its job. I look forward to President Bush signing it into law. Enforcement is the next challenge."
