Ohio Dental Association Works to Brighten Senior Smiles

Summary

COLUMBUS, Ohio , Dec. 9 /U.S. Newswire/ -- A new oral health initiative of the Ohio Dental Association, Smiles For Seniors, is helping health professionals and social agencies spread smiles to the older adults they serve. Hundreds of health professionals and staff with agencies/associations that serve the older adult population have begun to implement Smiles For Seniors as one of their standard staff in-service, resident and community outreach programs.

The free program was developed to help educate on the common oral health issues that affect older adults and shows how to help older adults -- especially those with physical limitations -- maintain a daily oral hygiene regimen. Smiles For Seniors was funded in part by a grant from the ADA Foundation with generous support by GlaxoSmithKline.
