NEW YORK, April 6 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Dance Theatre of Harlem announced today that Catherine B. Reynolds, chairman of the Catherine B. Reynolds Foundation, will be the new chairman of the Board of Trustees of Dance Theatre of Harlem immediately. "We feel privileged that Catherine has agreed to lend her energy, commitment and vision to Dance Theatre of Harlem," said Arthur Mitchell, Artistic director of DTH. "Her dedication to both the arts and arts education is longstanding and passionate." Following a temporary shutdown of Dance Theatre of Harlem's School and Company last fall, the School reopened its doors in early December 2004, with a revamped administrative and Board structure. "We have great hopes of reestablishing our Company in the near future," Mitchell continued. "We are deeply grateful to Catherine and the Catherine B. Reynolds Foundation for pledging one million dollars as a leadership gift to this effort."

Reynolds commented, "The arts and education are instrumental in elevating communities, locally, nationally, and internationally and Dance Theatre of Harlem has created a remarkable legacy at all three levels." Reynolds pioneered the private education loan market that provides affordable financing for millions of students to pursue a college degree. Reynolds founded Servus Financial Corporation, a company dedicated to providing "private labeled" financial products for many of America's largest companies.
