Register Today for the First Annual Metro Atlanta Kids Recycle Day

Summary

ATLANTA, Nov. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The first annual Metro Atlanta Kids Recycle Day, hosted by Live Thrive and The Little Green Path Foundation, is scheduled for Saturday, November 12, 2011, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Atlanta Civic Center. The event and recycling services are all free, with the only exception being television recycling at $10 per TV. Event participants are encouraged to register in advance as soon as possible at www.atlantakidsrecycleday.org. For convenience and to encourage as many people as possible to participate, this is a drop-off event where volunteers will remove all items from cars and attendees can then simply drive away.

With the holidays approaching, this is the perfect time to recycle bikes, sports equipment and coats, which will be taken by Atlanta Falcon Ovie Mughelli's foundation at the event and distributed to children who might otherwise go without. Books are also ideal for recycling, with Better World Books accepting and distributing the books to local schools and shelters.
