CHICAGO, June 6 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Opponents of a controversial plan to cut services to Advocate Bethany Hospital rejoiced Tuesday as state regulators unanimously voted to reject the proposal.

The 4-0 vote by the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board thwarted Advocate Health Care's bid to close the Bethany's OB- GYN, mental health and substance abuse services - on top of its closure of hospital's full-service emergency room.
