PHILADELPHIA, March 31, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- At its Annual Leadership Summit on March 16, The Partnership for Patient Care reported on the solid progress that has been made to improve the quality and safety of care for patients at the more than 70 southeastern Pennsylvania hospitals in the Partnership.

Funded in part by Independence Blue Cross, the Partnership also announced a new year-long initiative to address the radiation dose safety of CT imaging to evaluate variances in dosages and appropriateness of scans, and identify safe practices for scans to prevent patient harm. The Partnership also unveiled its plan to expand the organization's mission from hospitals and health facilities to now include engagement with individual physicians and other health care professionals.
