Royal Recognition for London's Elephant Parade 2010 Official Logistics Partner Eco Movers

Summary

LONDON, Sept. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Following their participation in Elephant Parade 2010, Eco Movers were given the opportunity to meet Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall at the Royal Hospital Chelsea. Zach Wright, Assistant Manager at Eco Movers, said "When we got involved with this incredible conservation exhibition, we had no idea that it would lead to an audience with Prince Charles to discuss how we employ fully electric and electric hybrid vehicle technology, to provide low carbon emission transport."

This summer, Eco Movers teamed up with the charity Elephant Family to position 262 elephants around London and then moved them on to Sotherby's where they were auctioned off. Each elephant was hand painted by a range of established and emerging artists and designers such as Lulu Guinness, Diane Von Furstenberg, Jack Vettriano and Marc Quinn. Eco Movers had the mammoth task of ensuring that each of the 262 elephant art sculptures arrived at its destination on time and in one piece, but then had to make sure that it arrived to its buyer in the same state after the auction had taken place! This involved over 3500 individual journeys across the length and breadth of London with meticulous attention to the safety and security of the sculptures.
