WASHINGTON, Aug. 18 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Campaign for Tobacco- Free Kids honored New Jersey State Sen. Joseph Vitale for his leadership in advocating policies to protect kids from tobacco and reduce its devastating toll in New Jersey. Sen. Vitale was honored last night during the annual meeting of the National Conference of State Legislatures in Seattle.

Sen. Vitale, chair of the Senate Health, Human Services and Senior Citizens Committee, has been a committed champion of protecting kids from tobacco. Sen. Vitale is a co-sponsor of the comprehensive, statewide smoke-free workplace legislation that is before the New Jersey legislature. The Senator has been committed to moving this legislation forward and was instrumental in assuring a committee vote, where the bill passed unanimously.
