WASHINGTON, Nov. 18 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The United States Senate passed an amendment Thursday warning U.S. trade negotiators that they would not tolerate a World Trade Organization (WTO) agreement that stripped fair trade provisions from U.S. trade law.

Stand Up For Steel (SUFS), a coalition of America's leading steel producers and the United Steelworkers (USW), applauded the Senate amendment and reiterated its call for U.S. negotiators to defend American trade laws at the Hong Kong Doha Round of the WTO ministerial being held in December.
