LOS ANGELES, Sept. 5 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Dr. Jaushieh Joseph Wu, chairman of the Mainland Affairs Council in Taiwan, will speak on "Taiwan's Current Situation: A Fragile Democracy in Need of Your Help," at 7 p.m. on Sept. 8 at the Taiwan Center in Los Angeles. The event is co-sponsored by the Formosa Foundation and the Taiwan Center Foundation of Southern California.

"Dr. Wu is a highly respected scholar and politician," said Terri Giles, executive director of the Formosa Foundation. "His analysis on issues facing Taiwan, and how they affect America and democracy is critical to understanding why it is imperative for the United States to support Taiwan."
