WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Children's Defense Fund (CDF) this past weekend submitted comments to the Governor of Tennessee regarding major policy changes to the state's Medicaid program as delivered through the TennCare program. CDF welcomes the state's pledge to maintain full preventive and treatment services for children, but remains concerned about whether the state can or will fulfill this promise. In comments submitted to Governor Phil Bredesen, CDF points out that many aspects of the proposed changes could actually result in cuts to children's coverage and benefits, now or in the near future.
"Reforms to TennCare must not come at the expense of comprehensive health coverage for Tennessee's children," said Marian Wright Edelman, president of the Children's Defense Fund. "It is my sincerest hope that the Governor will change the flawed components of the proposal."See the full content of this document
