SAN ANTONIO, May 6 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The National Trauma Institute (NTI), a non-profit organization that funds trauma research in the United States, announced the awardees of its first round of grant funding. Seven studies, to be conducted at various institutions across the country, will each receive grant funding ranging from $125,000 to $225,000.

NTI's Science Committee received 85 proposals in response to its request last year. The proposals were subject to a rigorous peer- review process, and the committee's final selection included seven of the most scientifically promising and clinically relevant studies.
