PHILADELPHIA, May 12 /U.S. Newswire/ -- United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania announced on Wednesday that the 2005 United Way Campaign raised $49.2 million. More than 117,000 donors contributed to the total, an increase of $600,000 from the previous year's campaign.
The results were announced by Alba E. Martinez, Esq., President and Chief Executive Officer of United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. The announcement of the campaign results were part of the United Way Champions For Impact Awards program; as United Way gathered business and community leaders, volunteers and donors at the Academy of Natural Sciences for the annual awards event.
